Why I Wrote A Second Book

Lila Francese

My first book, Life Amplified, The Search for Resilience After Loss, is currently housed in medical libraries and widely used as a tool for doctors, caregivers, and families. It became a bestseller in the categories of Physician and Patient Care, and Hospice Care, and was honored as a Distinguished Favorite by the Independent Press Awards in the category of Death and Dying.

The book takes readers on an emotionally charged journey through the bond between siblings and the profound grief of losing that connection. It is the first published account of a deeply personal experience with terminal glioblastoma brain cancer, and it continues to serve as a compassionate resource for those facing similar circumstances.

My second book, Life Amplified: The Search for Resilience After Loss, builds on that foundation. It explores grief more deeply and offers tangible steps to help readers rebuild after tremendous loss. This book is about transformation—how our most painful moments can spark a spiritual awakening and lead us to a more resilient, elevated version of ourselves. It’s a testament to the idea that survival is only the beginning—and that healing can expand us into a life lived at a higher frequency.
